Default engine start button light

Evening all.

Finishing off my LED conversion on the switches in the dash of my S.

Engine start button will not light up though

Tried 5 different bulbs so safe to say its not a faulty bulb haha.

Does the engine start button light up with the ignition or is a operated via illumination switch? If so has anyone got a wiring diagram for it? Can't not have this working!

Many thanks

IIRC that one is a tricky one to fit - i am sure i ended up 'tweaking' the wires that come off the base of the lamp to ensure contact with the circuit on the small board it goes into.

I've taken a multi meter to the wires as there is only 3 coming off the plug iirc...

None of them were registering 12v with the illumination on...

On the topic of the start button. Mine does not light up and would like to replace the bulb. I have tried pushing the button out from the back, but dont want to push too hard and break a tab or anything.
Any recommendation on how to remove it? (Without damaging anything)

Thanks

Whole centre console out mate honestly it's far easier than trying to reach around ( oooooer ) I am nearly finished on it. However I am going to put some SMD ones in place of LED ones as they're a bit dim.

Will put some pics up when It's complete.
