Default Engine torque damper

Thanks to a heads up from another member I'm looking for a solution to my steering rack touching my Megan manifold.

Will this a) solve the problem and b) fit with a strut brace?

Cheers,

Dave

Oh blimey, is the Megan manifold not designed for RHD cars then ? A new manifold is one of the next upgrades to my car!

Does it just lightly touch, or does it actually cause binding/resistance on the steering?

Engine dampers have always been a bit marmite, lightly spacing the engine mount may help (some form of washer would do the job)

It's only left light marks on the steering rack where you can see where it has rubbed as the rack has turned and the engines under load.

Nothing major but obviously not supposed to happen which is why I'd figured reducing the amount of movement in the engine should solve it.

Stiff engine mounts would do the trick but significantly more expensive.

Cheers,

Dave

Also bear in mind that this ETD has had fitting issue's in the past ! A search will reveal these.

My tegwiga ETD would not fit out of the box.

Perhaps I'm rubbish with the search function but can't find anything on any issues with it?

What issues did you have?

Is there a better make to get?

Cheers,
Dave

Mine was too long ! some people where taking the damper apart to modify the internal's?? Thus making it shorter .

I found it easier to drill a hole in the suspension turret bracket further back so that it would fit as it was .

My j's racing damper went straight on. Bit fiddly but I certainly didn't have to modify it!

Personally wouldn't touch anything from Tegiwa. Just cheap copies of other parts.

Cheers guys,

Don't fancy drilling holes in the turret so will look at other options.

Other one I'd seen was ingalls?

Cheers,

Dave

Not in the turret ! In the bracket that bolts onto the turret that comes with the ETD.
