Default eps on!

hey guys, in abit of a situation!!

drove to work this morning and everything was fine. finished work and got into the S, started the car and found that the power steering wasn't working and the eps light on!!!
stopped and started the car at least 5 times but still a problem. read that the power steering could start to work again if you drive a mile or so but that didnt work!!
any ideas what it could be? or is it a case of going to honda and emptying my pockets AGIAN;(

I had something similar recently. It might be due to the battery not charging up properly.

In my case it was a snapped connector between the alternator and the battery, which cost £2 to fix.

Check the voltage on the battery first, if it's low (12v or less) then this is the likely cause.

However, given you can start the car ok, it might not be. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Have you checked the fuse? Not sure if it would affect other things but worth a look...

The one that controls the EPS?

I suggest that a look into the handbook MAY reveal all.

I found the eps fuse box that's located above the battery but all fuses seem fine. I've unplugged the battery now, I'll reconnect it in 7 or so hours time to see if there's a change.
I have a feeling Honda are gonna pull my pants down for this one

Did you check the battery voltage yet? preferably with it still connected to the car otherwise you might get a slightly higher/normal looking float voltage with no load on it..

Ok im in a situation now. Took the car to Honda and they had it for 30min. Still couldn't find out what the problem was! Now they want it for another 3/4 hours at £90 per hour!!!! Does anyone know of any Honda specialists around the midlands who could sort it out abit cheaper?

I bought my car expecting to have no problems as I had not 1 problem with my last, I've had this one for 2/3weeks and it's proberbly gonna cost another £300/400

Anyone have any advise??
