Default European VS uk s2000

Hi guys,

does anyone know if the european S2000'S have the same BHP as UK ones? I have seen an S2000 for sale, it was from Holland and a uk spec? Would this identical to a uk car?

Thanks

BHP-wise, yes, it will be the same.

A number of Uk cars stopped off via cyprus. Etc etc.

My Alfa came via germany.

Ask a local S owner to see the car with you.

I saw the car this gent refers to for sale recently somewhere, either here or on PH.

Apparently its a UK car supplied to Holland and back if I read it right, not a grey import.
So should be identical, but no idea if you need to class as an 'import' for insurance as technically it won't be (UK VIN number?)

Someone help them out with the VIN numbers?
I dont have the info.

The VIN number should be to UK spec. Mine was.

Yes you need to declare it - It doesn't cost more as it is UK spec.

The car will be identical but, dependant on age, may not have a cat 1 alarm fitted and only the factory immobiliser. Also, it may not have locking wheel nuts . (Neither ommission is a bad thing because the HUK supplied items were total rubbish!). The only other difference will have been 3 years AA cover missing from new (warranty will have been the same otherwise).

Worth checking the alarm aspect because a lot of insurers (but not all) will want cat 1.

Some people say a european import (AKA parralel import) will be worth less but the only loss in value will have been to the original dealer, although possibly you may have to pay out for a cat 1 alarm. The question I would ask is about the alarm and, if it hasn't got one, take this one aspect into account concerning price.
