Default Facelift front bumper on pre facelift

I know this topic has been covered to death, and i've been hunting high and low without much success, can anyone offer me a definitive answer?

My '02 pre facelift has a facelift (ap2) bumper fitted. I've got it off to go to the bodyshop in a week or two but i'm wondering about the crash bar for now. I've looked into a lot of threads on front end swaps and there's always mention of having to trim the crash bar. I'm having trouble finding out where i need to trim it though. I've got no problem with breaking out the grinder but i'd like to know what bits need to go.

An educated guess suggests that i need to loose the very ends of the bar, but i'd like to be sure before i dive in and chop it up!

yeah your need to cut like triangles off the end of the crash bar otherwise your new paint job will crack over a period of time.
there's a couple of threads somewhere with pictures. I'd have a look to see if I still bookmarked it

Can't find it. Deleted when I brought a facelift. Cant find in on google but it should be in the DIY section. also the splash guard won't fit correct either. You can still use your old one. Put the new bumper on and mark on the splash guard where the holes are and drill through the splash guard.

Measure 2" from the end of the crash bar and cut diagonally to remove the pointy ends of the bar.

I changed the arch liners and undertray for the facelift variants as they enable everything to fit together correctly - others have been able to bodge to their satisfaction.
