Default Factory Radio

My Radio has a button CD/AUX. Does this mean that buried round the back of the radio there is an AUX connection like a 3.5mm Jack or a pair of RCAs?

Has anyone taken out their unit and can post up a photo or is their better documentation on the radio anywhere, the handbook is quite poor.

Mine is the the Type A audio system in the current handbook.

Not sure if it's been changed in the later cars.

i'm sure i've seen a moddified s2k radio on the net somewhere.
iirc you needed to pull the radio apart and do some good ol' soldering, then get the wires outside of the HU somehow (upto you really).

could be way off mark and could of been for a completely different radio, but might be worth a look around on google?

I can take a photo of the back of my radio when I get home if you still require it. It's currently sat in a box in the loft...

I'm trying to do this with mine too. The kids at Halfords seem to think that it's a 3.5mm to RCA cable, so based on what they've told me, I bought one, albeit a cheap one.

Just had a look at removing the HU - There's no obvious way of doing this without removing the dash. Anyone got any tips or advice?

Si.

The headunit screws are hidden behind the flip down fascia panel, you will need to gently prise the flip down facia to access the four screws that hold the headunit.

Cheers PHS2K.

Bad new is that when you've taken the fascia panel off and accessed the back of the HU, there's no damn RCA or 3.5mm sockets anyway!

Oh well, guess I'll have to get a new HU!
