Default Fancyplates?

Has anyone ordered number plates from Fancyplates? I just ordered some on line - now I am worried about delivery time AND (more importantly) Legality! The new plates won't have a post code on them - does this matter?

The obligation is on the person making the plates to put their post code on (at least as I understand it), not on the person using the plates.

So, it's Halfords who would get it in the neck if they made up plates for you which breached the rules, not you yourself. And that's the reason why these online and mail order places are happy to do them when high street places are not.

I think a few people have, but unless you've ordered plates with the official UK font (and correct spacing) then they are not road legal. Then again, doesn't mean people don't have them on their cars, on public roads.

I bought some EU plates from Fancyplates just before I went on a driving holiday in Europe. Everything I asked for they did with regard to character spacing. They also were spot on with delivery - I asked them to prioritise my prder and send it next-day Special Delivery at extra cost and they did. A week later another set of plates appeared - looks like they didn't take the order off their jobsheet once my plates went out and I got another set free of charge (I called back and the lady was a bit sheepish about it...)

No maker's identifier on mine, although the character spacing makes this irrelevant...

The only "legal" ones are UK Standard font - with correct spacing. chack on DVLC site. but... there is a question mark around pre yr2000 plates and "cherished numbers". I got my new plates 2 days ago, took 5 mins to fit and as my S2000 is Silverstone I got a silver fading to black surround - IMHO looks really cool!
