Genuinely, can someone remind me to do the top gear lap test at some point. I may well screw it up, but I've been meaning to do it for a while. I may not be the fastest S, but I'm certainly up there.
Difficult to be exact but I reckon this guy:

about a 1:46 with two up!
JC always says a wet track means +3-4 secs, so the Stig's 1:37.4 would come down to a 1:33/34.4
So what's thinking on a good target time for the S with an average driver, surely one would expect to get within 6-7 seconds of a Stig time? Which would make 1:40 a reasonable target.
Looking at the last "leader board" posted at:
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic...&t=324931&i=320
then around a 1:40 looks like it would be in reasonable company.
As and when I do it I'll post the "best" lap on video so you can all laugh ;-)

You dont obviously! but that doesnt stop other from being competative natured

I know I can drive my car but I'm not that fussed about putting an advert in the Sunday Times telling people how great a driver I am.
I have been known to be smug when passing hideously expensive cars on the Nurburgring

Firstly, if bragging like that isnt willy waving then i dont know what is.
Secondly, the times are anonymous and are intended as a guide to the CARS not the drivers performance.

I think the willy waving bit is more 'The car I bought can do this track in this time and that makes me special even though I'll never drive round that track and wouldn't be able to do that time if I did' sort of thing.
OK for a bit of fun though
