Default A few things....help and suggestions

hello everyone, ive not been on here for a while because, to be honest i grew bored of my car and was thinking of selling it beause its got a few things that need doing to it ect...
BUT ive had a change of heart and decided to sort out the things that need doing to it, i could do with a bit of your help and advise to help me rekindle the love of the S2.
By the way its a Mark1 S2000, do you call this the AP1?
anyway...
1. need new rear tyres apparently bridgestone dont make SO-2 tyres anymore, so what are some good tires i can get instead but without spending loads.
2. Ive got a terrible leak in my roof on both the passanger and driver side so everytime its been sat in the rain (every day at the moment) i get a soaking wet shoulder when i drive off, i had honda take a look at it a while ago and they just put some sylicone on it as they said the seals were in good condition, but it made no difference. Is there anything to do?!
3. My engine management light keeps coming on and off between about 150miles at a time, i know i really need to take it to the garage and get them to have a look but do you think it could something to do with my air filter being really dirty as i have no lid on the air box (because it sounds nice) so how do i clean it.
4.ive got a small hole in the roof, not connected with the earlier thing i was talking about, is it possible to get a small hole repared?
5. whist im at it do AP2 body parts fit on an AP1 with no modifactations i.e lights and bumpers.

Thanks in advance!
Marc

1. If you're just changing the rears I'd use Bridgestone RE050As (details in the faq in my sig)
2. Mine does this too, as do most others. My dealer had a fix but I've yet to chase them about it as mine is garaged. Interested if anyone else has solved it though.
3. Just buy a new one?
4. Where is the hole
5. A few mods needed, but nothing major and it has been done before.

Yep that pretty much sums it up, although my car doesn't leak

As Jonsey says all the cars are AP1, the newer bumper etc. is just a face lift the AP2 is another chassis number for cars with 2.2 engines

ok cheers, i think i looked for the RE050s before but couldnt find them in the 16" size, does anyone know a good website to order tires from? or shall i just stick on 4 18"s haha i wish i could afford to do that!
umm the hole is like, well its hard to discribe really, its been rubbing on one of the roof mechanisim on one of the hinges, its only small so i dunno if it can be re-stiched or something?
Would the body modifacations be expencive?
also what would be the rough cost of a respray, in white?

haha would it be easier/cheaper to just buy a new car?!

As for the leak, when applying the shin-etsu grease, try rubbing it along the inside of the door rubbers (pull it back and get your fingers in there).

It seems to work for me.

Body modification to fit the facelift stuff wouldn't be expensive but the parts probably would, although it is september so you only need to wait a few weeks for some cheap ones to become available.

A respray in white, you would need to get a quote from a pro for that but as most will tell you the value of your car would half instantly. You would be better buying an import JDM in white, you should be able to get one for not much more than what you would get for your car I reckon, you would need to check with a specialist importer. To get an 04 on the other hand might be a bit more.

Ok thanks guys, i think i will just go with fixing the leak and getting new tyres for now, unless anyone knows of the newer shapes 17"s for sale at a good price?
Where can i buy this Shin-etsu grease from? is it expensive? Would it be better to take the the honda garage for them to do it or is it not worth the labour cost
