Default Finding a good Dealership?!?

Afternoon All,

As there seems to be a good deal of discussion around finding a quality service dept in the Hants/Surrey area, Tyringe and myself have decided it would be a good idea to go and see Reading Honda.

There are a number of reasons for this.

1. We have no confidence in our local service dept.
2. We want to find a dealership that is fairly local.
3. We want to find a place that we can start to build a good relationship with.

The plan is to go down, have a natter with the service manager, mention our concerns, and find out what they have to offer that can help us.

So the question is, would anyone else want to come along?
What would be a good date?

Cheers

Mark.

Excellent idea, but not close enough for me , sounds like you could organise group discount.

Bit too far for me.........but anyone further east in surrey/sussex should definitely try Geo Collins - they've done quite a bit of work for me & Ianl......great service and they have NSX/s2000 engineer status.

I have a good friend who works at Marshall's of Reading, Honda. Peter Squires hopefully spelt corretly I am sure he will be helpful. I think he is involved in aftersales.

Another good garage for those in the New Forest is Balmer Lawn in Brockenhurst.

I would be interested in what happens! I live in Reading and only have experience of the Ascot honda Garage which I can honestly say is AWFUL on any number of levels!

As a soon-to-be customer of theirs (I work in Reading) I'd be happy to come along. Keith knows how to contact me offline.

The Midlanders seem to have built up a good relationship with Brindleys on Cannock, it would be nice to have a similar 'trustworthy' place to go in the South.

Just called Marshall's, to speak to Peter, unfortunately not at work today, but I will try to call him tomorrow.

Unfortunately, Geo Collins are not willing to take on new customers at present, especially any with 'history'. Apparantly there have been three dealers fold in the area recently, which has caused additional work for the remaining dealers. My car is currently in John Cooper's, I'll let you know if they are any good. I hear also that there is a new dealer opening in the Tunbridge Wells area in a month or so, does anyone have any details? It depends on the staff, but if they are keen to make a mark, they may be worth approaching. Is there anyone in that area who could make some inquiries?
