Default First long drive in the S

So i have just taken the car home, 120 mile journey. I had to top up the oil as it was at the bottom on the marker this morning, it had 5w40 in at the time so i have topped it up with some more until TGM see the car next week.

One thing i noticed a few times, is that when i accelerate hard in 2nd gear it feels like the clutch pedal 'gets stuck' halfway through the travel when i attempt to go into 3rd. It does go into 3rd, it just seems to 'clunk' halfway through the travel. Doesnt do it everytime though so it could me. It may just be me adjusting to the car, but perhaps it is a common issue that is known?

Has I had a clutch in its life? How many miles has it done?

Original clutch, 71k on the clock. It doesnt slip, or get stuck at the bottom. It just seems to sometimes 'clunk' on the way down, i think it happened twice in 120 miles.

I think it is just me being a bit clumsly as i get used to car, ive come from 4 years in a brand new fiesta so the clutch does have a very different feel. I could also just be paranoid

When you take it into TGM for service stuff, get them to change the gearbox oil, replace the clutch fluid and regrease/ de nub the clutch slave rod, they are all small jobs so shouldnt set you back much

yea i will ask them to check all of that as well. I think it is probably me just not used to the car, but worst case its going to be a new clutch at some point.

What the standard rate to have one sourced and fitted? I did a quick search but couldn't find anything outside of the US

Mines on 68k and was a bit 'notchy' when i first got it. After a clutch fork grease and fresh gearbox oil its as smooth as silk now, a real pleasure to use. Actually it's probably the best gearchange of any of the 50+ cars i've had!

See the Traders forum here. Si at Hendy Performance does a good deal on clutches.

Tom has some Honda clutches, part was about £300 couldn't tell you what fitting was as they fitted me a gear box as well.

Is this not the stupid clutch delay valve? Is it a MY04+?

That would just make it feel like it slips on quick gear changes.
