Default First run of 2011

After a nice heavy dose of rain over the weekend to wash away the salt followed by a beautiful afternoon yesterday, I decided it was time to get the S2000 out from hibernation and give it a run.

Nice and tentative at first - driving one of the early cars is always a strange experience after driving FWD for 5 months and it takes a few miles to feel comfortable again, as the car can feel quite nervous.

After a metallic clunking noise over a couple of bumps, I stopped the car and had a check round - one very hot rear wheel = seized calliper. So a few proper stamps on the brakes later and no more clunking and a much cooler wheel.

Hopefully that will be the brake sorted, but I'm well aware a calliper bill may await me.

Apart from that, it's great to have the old car out again. 11 years old and 106k miles and it still feels much more special than our ITR and ATR

Let's see what it's MOT shows up in a few days.

I was driving around with a big grin until the petrol ran out. Told my wife I'd be out for 10 minutes, was more like an hour in the end

Shame they dont reach my head, yesterday my feet were sweating and my forehead was freezing. They are good though, enough to keep my mrs happy with the roof down all the time.

I was up in the peak district again yesterday for one run of the C&F, me in my S and a mate in his one too.... roof sdown, great weather was grinning for ear to ear. Really feeling like i am getting my moneys worth from the car when i visit those roads.

Some driver training soon will make me feel more comftable/ confident.

I was over that way yesterday for the first time, I was seriously surprised to find some great roads so close to Manchester. It was a great day for it too. Top down, VTEC on and then a quick stop off for ice cream
