Default First Service Recommendations

Ok my car was new in Jan 04 and I've done 7,500 miles

Planning to take it in for a service before Xmas

Planning on getting them to change all the oil

Redline - Engine
Redline - Gearbox
Redline - Diff

now I know that I do not need to change the oil in the diff and gear
but is it a case of it certainly won't do any harm...

or is it a really bad idea that could do more harm than good?

Any feedback from people more technical than me

Matt - I would recommend you change the diff and the gearbox every year - for such little cost you'll have peace of mind and sweet running motor.

I replace mine regardless of miles every time mine goes in for a service - can't hurt

In fact after reading all the Oil threads in the 'Under the Hood' Forum, I'm going
to keep the box of Redline tucked away in the garage for now...

will get them to do the oilchange with Honda Brew Mineral and then in the summer when i've cracked 10k miles then move to the synthetic stuff

seems to be the right way to go not to move too synthetic till at least 10k so says Honda techs

will still get them to use Redline in the gear and diff...

I would stick to the mineral engine oil until the next service but I would recommend you get the gearbox and diff oil changed over.

Will you need to stick the molybdenum additive in at 7500 miles?
I'm not sure of the answer myself, but would be interested to know.
It's the stuff they stick in the mineral oil to help the bedding-in process, and should be used until you change to synthetic AFAIK, but whether this is necessary after the first service, even if you are sticking with mineral, is another matter.
Worth checking.

I had the additive put in after the first service (3750 miles). I don't have the product code but if you metnion it to the dealership they should know what you are talking about - it costs around
