I'm not sure of the answer myself, but would be interested to know.
It's the stuff they stick in the mineral oil to help the bedding-in process, and should be used until you change to synthetic AFAIK, but whether this is necessary after the first service, even if you are sticking with mineral, is another matter.
Worth checking.
from what i read, the answer is no, not from 7500+

but no synthetic till at least 10k

Thats right, but the mileage where its no longer required is 6,000 miles.
Had some put in when my car went in for the oil/bolt recall and the mileage was around 5,800 or thereabouts.

Agree on the not switching to fully synthetic until around 10,000.
You could just let them put their Shell semi synthetic swill in if thats what they supply. Ask for some free ear plugs though to reduce the "bag full of hammers" sound that comes from under the bonnet IMHO
