I am still surprised, even after two and a bit years of ownership, how often people yell complimentary things as I pass. I have never once received a derogatory comment about the car. It doesn't seem to generate "nasty" envy in people.

Driving back from Brighton to Ashford via Tenterden, I got a big cheer from a bunch of guys in a silver Volvo estate who were stopped at some traffic lights.

Maybe they were S2000 owners.

Having owned my S for about 3 weeks now, I was driving from Hythe to Ashford in Kent and was stopped at some temporary traffic lights in a country lane around Saltwood.

The weather was hot and sunny, the roof was down, the shades were on and the CD was playing.

A bunch of about 8 young ladies (on their way to school!) passed the car, eyes fixed on the car and all of them said to me "Nice car mate!"

Naturally, I blushed, smiled and thanked them.

I wonder why they didn't say that when I was driving my beat up old Volvo along the same road?

It is kind of gratifying to know that it isn't just us s2k freaks that appreciate the fine looks of the car.

Keep it gleaming y'all!

MarkW, I think that you may be our first 'Yellow' owner on the board - Next time you're over near Bromley, let me know. I wouldn't mind seeing once in the 'flesh'

Took the car out for a quick spin last night at about 8pm - just pulled out of my road and slowed down for a speed hump when three little kids (8-10 year olds?) stopped and stared at the car! Then one of them shouted "It's the Fast and the Furious!!!" and ran down the road to call his mates - I drove off slowly only to see another 8 or 10 kids come running to look at the car! Quite funny!

There's a couple of kids who I pass nearly everyday, as they go to school and I go to work, who've taken to waving at me as I drive past.

the unparalleled feeling of driving the S just gets even better when someone throws you a compliment or just can't help staring!
