Default Fitting a K&n

Just ordered a K&N from the States of Ebay and can't wait for it to arrive! Just wondering how easy is it to install? Is there any cutting of the bumper needed like with the AEM?

Thanks

Dan

No cutting and the instructions that come with it are pretty good.

K&N CAi aka Typhoon is a short ram isnt it?

Its a 5 minute job, the vacuum hoses can be tricky, just take your time.

Personally I did a modification when I installed min which I think is well worth it. You will notice that the standard installation leaves a big gap where the pipe comes through the heatshield.........I shortened the pipe to close the gap........there is a detailed post about it somewhere, check with me if you can't find it. Allow 90-120 mins for the install if you take it carefully. Fitting the rubber hose to the heatshield is the worst part. Suggest cutting it into lengths to fit.......

I struggled with one bit, the photos that came with it were great, until I couldn't see where one hose had to go...Someone very kindly emailed me some better photos...it's the bit that's right under the rad. You won't be disappointed, the noise is great, but not overbearing, the vtec enagement is even more noticeable and therefore more addictive. It helps a bit towards heatsoak. At around 8000 revs it's really raspy and if you were ever going to believe that it gave more hp, that's the point that you might begin to believe it's a little more eager. Took me and a friend 40 mins to fit....I think you'll enjoy it!

pulling the hoses off can also be a bit tricky. It took me at least an hour to fit by the time I had removed all the hoses and also installed the foam edge on the box itself. The foam is a PITA to get around teh corners and you will need a sharp stanley knife to trim it.
