Default Fitting rear spats?

Hi all, I bought a set of rear spats from flybikeslee but I just can't see how they fit!
I'm not a complete dumb a$$ but if I screw in just under the bumper they stick out miles so that can't be right I just can't see how they fit unless the facelift and prefacelift under bumper lips are different.
Could they be cut to big or am I an idiot?
Tried asking him but have no reply so please anyone help?

I just screwed mine in under the bumper. Pushed it back to the inner lip and drilled a small pilot hole in bumper.
My post #61 kinda shows how they sit.

Here you go, I'm not great at trying to explain things but it's like they need to be half the size because if they sit where I want them to then they rock on the lip of the bumper if that makes sense?
I never thought this would be so tricky

This is it lined up with the under lip of the bumper

Mine stick out just like in the first photo. They do look big at first but once you are used to them they seem fine. It's just from some angles they look like wings!

You get used to them very quickly and they look great. My advice is fit them now and live with them for a couple of weeks before you cut them.
