Default Flapping front mudguard

Hi there

Drove over a speed hump slightly too fast today, which I'm a bit annoyed with myself about (given how low the front valance is). You'd think I would have learned a safe speed after 8 years of ownership!!

Anyway, fearing the worst after hearing the dreaded scraping then cracking sound, fortunately it's just the front mudguards that scraped and not the bumper assembly.
On the driver's side, the plastic panel which the mudguard attaches to has broken, leaving the mudguard to flap around on only one mounting point.

My question is...has anyone done anything similar and have any idea how much these panels are please?

They don't look very big, but knowing Honda they charge a fortune.
Is there anywhere else to get one, as I don't think breakers would bother with anything like this?

Apologies if this sounds insignificant compared to rattling engines, etc., but hopefully someone can just give me an idea.

Thanks in advance.

I had one missing when I got the car (ex CAT D), £150 along with some other bits and bobs, suprisingly resonable for S2000 parts, easy to do yourself as well.

Having had a proper look this morning, I didn't realise the panel is also part of the whole wheel liner assembly, so suddenly a potentially £30 piece of plastic turns out to be costing over £100.

Oh well, thanks for the replies. As you say, it's still not too bad at Honda prices!

Thanks, and I agree they do look daft and serve very little purpose (mudflaps in front of the wheel...huh??).
However, I'm just trying to keep it standard looking.
The flap thing is actually fine, it's the panel it attaches to that's gone.

They're not mudflaps they're front air dams that direct air in some way. I can't remember whether its for increased stability at high speeds or whether its something to do with brake cooling but I'm sure someone like Lovegroova can clarify that one.

Interesting, didn't realise that. I stand corrected. I'm sure Honda know best!

I'm about to take these off, would that be a bad move given the proposed usage mentioned above? They just look awful but I don't want to compromise stability even more

I doubt it, most people who lower their car remove them...
