Default Floor Mat Anchor Posts

I got some mats from Muz the other day (mmm lovely), they came with the eyelets for the anchor posts. However, there are two eyelets yet I only have one post, near the door - the mats have another hole in the middle of the mat.

So, my question is, should there be another one and if so where can I get a post from. I had the grey/ red Honda mats in before and they only had one hole. The post I have doesn't seem to fit very well either, it moves around easily. The main reason I post this is because it doesn't line up with the hole on on the Muz mats perfectly and they are bunching up just to the left of the crossmember.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

Dinnae bother with the posts.

just undo the seat 2 bolts slightly & slip th edge of the mat under & tighten securely.
I've done 75k miles with the mats like this no probs.

I think older models had only one post - newer ones (my Sept 02 has 2) have two posts. I'm not sure if you can move the posts - I would try a search - may also require cutting up more of the carpet.

I had two posts off GSi (4 the same reason) and screwed them through the carpet to the cross member in the right places! IIRC you cannot buy just the posts from the stealer, thats why GSi bought a batch from the US, I think they have all gone now!

Also there is nothing 4 the passenger side! Sounds like I might be undoing a couple of bolts and tucking the mats under the seat runners! (Good tip snapper!)

The '04 has two eyelets/posts - perhaps that's the prob?

I know this because one of the eyelet rivets came out & they replaced both mats them under warranty which I found surprising (cost wise). The passenger side doesn't have any at all.

And that is just about the sum of my technical knowledge about the S2.

My passenger side mat fits perfectly and sits nice and flat. It seems odd that my car is an 02 and only has one post, guess I'll have to buy one. I've found a Honda parts website that has them, just need to find out a shipping price. I'll let you know when I order them Ian.

Hi,

My S2000 (04) is fitted with MUZ Mats and I used the 2 posts fitted by my Honda dealer. The posts are a standard Honda part - hope this helps.
