eSem - once i have had a word with chris ill drop you a pm about them arms.

" 20 hours to remove my four lower suspension arms for replacement "

i will speak to chris about this to see if it will be easyer to keep the origional arms on and just change the bushes ( will have to destroy the bushes out of them and replace ) or to bring 2 new lower control arms for the rear ( no bushy bashing madness, but will have to replace arms )

Either way this is looking like a %

My car was completely fecked - 3 out of the 4 arms were completely seized (the other one was replaced under warranty 3 years ago) and I think it was 16 hours to remove three arms, then 4 hours for the replacements.

You'll probably also find that your ARB links are seized on to the arms (another

Your is looking sh1t hot Bassoctopus.

Well i think i have accepted the fact that this is going to be an expensive venture. But of course i am just trying to minimise the damage here.

At least with new control arm's and bushes, we dont have to worry about saving the old ones, means we can be a little more persuasive. Should save some man hours right ?

I dunno, im gonna hopefully speak to chris at CoG and get a plan sorted out

Either way it needs to be done, and i hear he is the man to do it.

Definitely go to Chris, he's the guy when it comes to S2k suspension

The garage cut my old arms off, so weren't worried about damaging the old arms or bushes, and it still took 16 hours. The worst one is the one next to the fuel tank as they can't use a grinder to cut through the steel there. Apparently.

It isn't an easy job to cut out the bolts, on the seized bushes, on the control arms.

It took me a couple of hours per bolt the first time I did it.

He'd have to get the control arm off and refit either way, so probably makes little difference to the amount of work.

Seems to happen to most, unless they've been greased. This picture is from one of my FNS bushes (can't recall which) and as you can see it's starting to show the signs of corrosion. The thing is I'd been driving the car for 6 weeks from new and it was starting to go.

AE or was it Esem did a great write up about converting to third party bushes. Infact, sure it was AE. He had purple ones I seem to remember. AE, bring that thread forth.
