Well at a guess I'd of thought you'd need to remove the hub and have to use a press to push them out, then press in the new one to a certain tonnage (couldn't comment on what tonnage as I'm used to Motorsport applications which are different) ensuring it's all the way up the taper.

Would you have to replace the bearing too?

May as well while you are there! I would
Make sure you get good quality ones though, plenty of cheap rubbish ones out there.

Cool, does removing the hub meaning the suspension and ball joints all have to be removed?

Detracted from the hub, not removed, hub nut off and susp arms off, TRE etc etc.

It'll either be quite easy undoing the bolt from the top and a little tickle with a hammer or you'll need a ball joint splitter. I didn't with mine when I was messing about with my car once. I'd advise against penetration spray if you can avoid it unless changing the ball joint as it'll perish the rubber, but sometimes needs must.

I've done this on mine.

You need the upright off the car, got to press the hub out of the bearing. The bearing has a split inner, one half of which will stay on the hub. This has to be pressed or cut (carefully) off the hub. Suggest if you haven't got a press you're going to at least need a friendly garage to do the press work for you.

The studs come out very easily after this. Pop the new ones in, press them home, re-assembly is the reverse, follow the instructions on the wheel bearings and you'll be laughing.

Eurocar parts sell an SKF bearing kit which comes with a OEM Honda circlip.

Not a small job mind.

I used ARP wheel studs as, other than honda's own, I couldn't find any others that actually gave a rating or stated they had the correct rolled thread. There are a lot of cheese wheel studs out there...

Hope that helps.

Well my gf's dad is a tool maker so if I get it off the car I'm pretty sure he'll be able to press out the old stud and bearing, then press the new ones in. It's more knowing how to remove the hub off the car really.
