Default Front wing lost it's shine

Hi. The front half of my offside front wing looks dull and doesn't have the gloss shine like the rest of the car, almost like a matt finish. Usually I wash the car every fortnight but this was the first time in 2 months so not sure when it's happened. Never had this on any car before - is it some natural effect of sunlight or could there be any other reason? Also - is it a simple case of polishing out or does it need a body shop? Cheers.

Lacquer pealed off?
Maybe body shop time.. try some wax first.. or get Tango Man to do some work for you (go for a detail) (it will be a much cheaper option IMO)

sounds like a bad paint job. silverstone is a very thin colour layer with a clearcoat on top which provides the gloss - it may polish up again but there's obviously a problem because this has happened. is it uniform across the wing? not on any other panels nearby?

Thanks. No - it's just on one section of the wing, on the upper surface just above the headlight to above the wheel arch, say about 1-2 sq ft. Strangely it's only to one side of the ridgeline which runs down the upper surface of the wing, the aspect on the bonnet side is still all laquered and shiny.

It sounds like that section of the wing has had some repair work done in the past (maybe sprayed to cover some stone chips or a scratches). The paint may be a different quality to the original or the clear coat lacquer thinner than the original.
It sounds like further remedial work is in order.
