It's been quiet on the site tonight, I'm sure others will chime in tomorrow.

I had my car in for its 27,000 mile service about a month ago and have just checked the service schedule provided with the service receipt.

The service schedule I was given is different to the one posted by Beardie in that it differentiates between "in tank" fuel filter and "outside tank" fuel filter.

The "in tank" filter is scheduled for replacement at 63,000 miles or 84 months (whichever comes first), the "outside tank" filter is scheduled for 27,000 miles or 36 months.

The obvious question is therefore whether the S2000 has an "in tank" or "outside tank" filter.

Without research, I don't know the answer to this...

:edit: I should add that my filter wasn't replaced and that the "outside tank" (27k) check mark was crossed to say that it wasn't applicable.

The filter isn't your typical unit. It is a bag on the bottom of the pump where it sits in the fuel. As such it doesn't trap debris and clog up like an inline unit.

According to that form it should be replaced at 27K but that form is fairly generic. Notice the line below is for 'Diesel'.

If they didn't replace it I wouldn't sweat about it. You saved some bucks.

Thanks P1 and Aus - between you i think you've cleared up the mystery. It doesn't seem to be that important an issue, and it looks like the "generic" form is wrong on this point - unless someone HAS had their filter changed at 27K......

BTW it was a fixed price 27k service, so the dealer would have been saving the bucks ;-)
