Default Which fuse?

With reference to the FAQ, which specifies that for the hardwiring of, for example, a radar detector, fuse '42' (40A) is specific to the ignition switched contact under the dash.

Which fuse is fuse '42' and where is it located? The reason I need to know is that I've made myself a cable to enable me to hardwire my Origin b2 but I'm not getting any power from the ignition switched contact and I need to make sure the fuse is OK before I start pulling my cable apart checking for poor contacts etc

Many thanks

(Anyone else had any issues using the power contact?)

Andy

Have you got a 12v bulb tester or digimeter? you could just use that to check you have a live terminal.

Got anything else that runs on 12 volt which you could rig up as a temporary tester (low current - don't want to fry anything ) ?

Are you sure that you haven't connected to the contact which is live only when the lights are on? I suspect this might be the answer. In which case the one you want is at the other end of the three.
Oh and don't forget you need a 1 amp inline fuse!
