Default Garage Advice...

I had a nice big garage built last year and very soon it will have an S inside

Right now it still has a bare concrete floor which produces a lot of dust

What would be the best treatments / paints for the floor?

I painted mine with two coats of Screwfix Garage floor paint
It is an epoxy paint with sand in it to give good grip

TBH this is a hard question to answer.

Here is why.

If you ever put your car away wet then garage floor paint does not allow the water to soak into the concrete. The result is puddles on the floor, possible condensation a damp garage and possible mould growth.
Youu have potentially the same issue with any rain that gets in under the door. Although id you had an acco drain fitted across the door this will not be a problem.

If you want to paint the floor the Screwfix paint as as good as any.

The alternatives are to coat the floot with a layer of PVA emulsion. If you do this with watered down PVA you will keep the dust down and the floor will still be slightly porous. to allow water to soak away.

You could try a wax finish as well. these are used in a lot of factories.

I have done this in the house I built..

it actually doesn't cost that much and looks great - put a tile plinth around the edge also.

also you to store anything on it and keeps the dust away.

Always have a white floor on a garage - easier to spot the leaks
