Default garaging for the winter...

Hellooo...
Im just after some advise, im at uni now and have not taken my car with me, i was trying to sell it but seeing as i didnt get any interest i thought i might as well just garage the car till the spring or summer next year letting the tax and MOT run out as they are due this month and cancelling the insurance as im paying 170 a month for no reason at the moment.
So was wondering what can i do to make sure nothing goes wrong with the car whist its garaged..im thinking give it a good wash and wax, disconnecting the battery and maybe putting a dust sheet over the car? Anything else?

Thanks,
Marc

Tyres up to around 40 or 45psi (shipping pressure) to prevent them flat-spotting whilst standing, or put the car up on blocks to take the load off them.

I'm sure others will come up with more.

My mate always puts a couple of pots of silica powder type stuff in the car to absorb any mositure from condensation and such.

Not sure if it's needed on a modern plastic and leather car though.

leave the windows open a little bit, to keep it airing through as it will get damp. and leave it in gear with the hand brake off and a tank of fuel

Insure it, if it gets stolen then you will be a tad miffed.

Enquire about laid up policies or 3rd party fire and theft only.

Brim the tank to prevent condensation.
