Default Go Pro Mount

Hi Guys,

I've seen that lots of people seem to mount their go pro onto the lid of the centre compartment, well I assume it's there from the videos i've seen anyway.
Which sort of mount have you been using and how have you attached it to the lid? I don't want to drill any holes in the lid and as it's a curve I very much doubt the suction mount is going to be any good.

Thanks

Just use a sticky mount. The 3m pads they use are the same as they use to attach windows to skyscrapers, so they work well. I've got two on my helmet

3M mount is fine, the "curved" piece is slightly more curved than the centre box lid, however, if you hold it down for about 5mins when you put it on, it will create a tight seal.

Just make sure you put it on centrally, and I've found 1080p Medium FOV to be better than wide!

I know alot of trackday organisers wont allow stuck on mounts. It has to be bolted to the car. You can normally get away with it but my brother has been pulled up on it in the past. You can explain to the organiser all you want that there's no way they will come off but they still prefer them to be bolted. Hence why the modifry mount is so worthwhile. Its all to do with things coming loose in the cabin and going under a pedal.

Evening All,

I've been trying to find a way to mount my GoPro without using the 3M pads. I've actually managed to use the GoPro head strap on the roll bar with pretty reasonable results! Added some photos of how I've mounted it. I've also secured it with some cable ties to just to make sure it's held tight against the car and also to stop it disappearing down the road if it slips off!

I suspect this is no good for track days but hopefully will be good enough for my Sunday drive tomorrow

And this is the view on narrow, medium and wide settings.
