Default Good start to the week

It was a beautiful mid morning yesterday so I decided to drive from an early morning meeting into work with the roof down. Nice.

Unfortunatley driving into the multi storey car park our office uses, the car in front of me rolled down a ramp into the front of the car.

There was a god awful crunch and I saw the front of the car flex. I couldnt see any noticable damage at first but I got the other guys details anyway.

Later however I noticed that the bonnet and the lip of the nose section are out of alignment on the right hand side. I have noticed that my head lights have been knocked out of alignment too.

I have taken the car to a body shop near Maidenhead for a quote. Hopefully (as it is my word against his) the other guy will do the decent thing and continue to assume blame for the accident.

Hope it gets sorted for you !

Hayd:

Bummer mate!: Lets hope you get it sorted out O.K.
I'm pretty sure that the law has changed in recent years, but the police may well not attend an accident on a car park anyway. It's as well your man is doing the right thing and accepting responsibility. This can be a difficult situation where you are relying on the other party to behave responsibly. Let us know how it pans out.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear your news. Check that the headlights units are ok and not loose. There is a steel bracket that runs under the front, but if that is bent you've got trouble The back of the light housing is fixed at the inside on a solid piece of chassis. Any movement is absorbed by the light unit.

I've got a loose headlight, because the fixing lug on the plastic back panel has snapped. There is no sign of damage to the bumper and a only slight bend in the supporting bracket.
