Got hit yesterday...
As the title suggests I was hit by a Z3M driver yesterday evening about 7.30. Were both stopped at some red lights at Avonmouth pulling on to the slip road on to the M5, me on the inside, him on the outside. I pulled away on green but not exactly quickly, probably around half throttle and went up to around 7k before changing into 2nd so doing about 35-40mph, suddenly hear a bang and feel a jolt and was then facing the opposite way having hit the kerb and the barrier on the right as he had hit me on the driver's door/wing and spun me round. Was completely shocked at this stage and had banged my head on the frame plus couldn't open the door
He comes over to ask if I'm okay but I can't open the door so wind down the window and say I'm okay but have hit my head. He suggests turning round and stopping in a lay-by further up the slip road. So I park up and climb out of the passenger side and take a look at the damage - driver side rear is a mess and the near side hit the barrier, luckily just the bumber which is bent, but the wheel hit the kerb and has gouges and scrapes. So I ask him what happened and as I figured he had lost control, probably giving it too much and oversteering into me. We exchange details and he admits liability verbally but there are no passengers and no witnesses so hopefully he'll be honest about it. I had already called my partner to bring a camera along but he didn't want to hang around so off he went. I took some pics of the scene although it was dark:
Map
It's the exit going north so not exactly sharp and it was dry and well lit. I was a bit weary of the suspension being out but drove home anyway and it seemed ok. Have reported it to the insurers and waiting for them to get back to me with regards to the repair and liability. Saw it this morning and felt sick as it's a mess
Pics later as still a bit miffed about the whole affair as i was minding my own business and some plank decides he wants to show me what he's incapable of
Been to the doctor's and he said the bump will go down over a couple of days. Ironically I had just finished whiplash physio from an incident in June where someone pulled out in front of me in the missus' car
Will keep you updated...

Jeez. Sorry to here this Umesh. Sounds nasty.
Also sounds like he gave it some beans in a effort to beat you off the lights and lost it completely.
Fingers crossed he admits fault and it's all sorted out swiftly. Insist on Brin Jones as the body shop.
Seems like a bad run of luck for the Bristol S2000s at the moment.

A taxi ran into the back of me at a junction a few weeks back. He's currently refusing to admit liability.
The claim is circa
how can he have the choice about liability? I was under the impression that there are no circumstances where you can be hit from behind and it NOT be their fault?
back to the OP.... that really sucks, good luck with it... and let's see some pics, you know how we all are about pictures!

Gore fest.
As for
Then if you swerve to avoid an accident and cause damage then it's your fault, if you let someone else hit you then it's their fault. So I can half agree.
However if you avoid an accident and no damage is caused then it's got to be win win.

Reading your tale gives me the gut feeling you will never see this bloke again.
His details could be false and the thought of having him, his car and the accident photographed sent him scurrying away.
I hope I am very wrong indeed.
By the by, I ALWAYS carry a disposable camera in both my cars & subject to not being seriously injured my first task after calling the emergency services would be to photograph everything and everybody in sight. This would include as many cars whose occupants might have witnessed the scene.
Photographing ALWAYS unerves those up to no good, & I always reach for a camera whenever I'm unhappy about an unsolicited doorstep caller.
Some years ago whilst visiting my elderly parents, I secretly photographed a couple of oiks/gypisies/didicoy types & their battered van whilst they knocked on doors trying to con some elderly neighbours out of cash for roof repairs.
The results were placed with the local police and I believe arrests and court cases followed.
