I have an S6R and have posted about it a few times recently but in summary it's not a bad unit overall. Good GPS system and lots of functionality. Not that small (vs RA etc) and some think that it doesn't look that pretty/modern. Crap radar detector (in that it goes off all the time) but most owners just set to laser only so you are protected against all fixed sites plus mobile laser. Legibility is average.......poor in initial models but has been improved for recent models. Easy to hard wire in. My radar/laser detector is on the dash because I have aftermarket grilles on the front which are too fine to put the detector behind.
No, the only power socket is the one between the seats.
The alternative is to hardwire the detector by running a wire into the fusebox, down by your right hand knee, and connecting it up in the.
(Or, if you're lazy like me but have to power two detectors, buy an extension cable, run it behind the seat from the power socket, and then tape the wires down along the sill and jam the extension block down the side of the drivers seat )
