Default guidance with koni sport dampers

I am in the process of getting the bushes changed to mugen and putting koni sport dampers on with stock springs. Question I have is that I have an 05 car and am I better off with my springs or will those from another year with a different spring rate be better.

Car is used as a daily driver but I do like to chuck it around hence mugen bushes not polybushes.

Long shot I know but has anyone got any experience with koni's and different spring rates.

We used different spring rates on my car along with KONI's, different as in I bought the KONI's and the springs that came with them, Ray will be along in a minute and no doubt remind us what those springs were as I gave them to him to use on his S and reverted back to 2002 stock springs on mine, this was simply because the new springs added another 20mm drop or so, added to the 25mm by the KONI's was too much for me. Read the 'NUT project' in my signature as I pretty much did the exact same procedure you are doing ... my advice would be to use your own springs, sure they will be a tad softer but you will hardly notice as the KONIs and theMUGEN bushes will do a great job of firming up anyhow.

I also know SiS2k has KONI's on his S, and I am sure he will pipe up too.

It was your thread that persuaded me to go koni route and I was wondering what difference springs from another year would make.

I thought the Konis had two spring perch heights, one the same as OEM and one 20mm or so lower?

I have a 2005 S2K. Less than one year ago I had Konis fitted, retaining OEM springs and found ride height to be too high! Subsequently 30mm lowering springs were fitted and Konis adjusted so that front were using lower perch and rear upper perch. This gave a good stance for fast road/track. Combined with some work on geo and new tracking set up, handling is superb. Ride quality is similar to OEM.

All work was undertaken by local sports/race car specialist Muzz Race.
