Had a bit of a bump
Managed to find some ice a good few weeks back
On my way to work, and not pushing it, but my main undoing was the roll down into a field. Where I landed was a good 20ft below the road level. Probably many layers of Dodo juice got me a good 3 yards extra down the field!! Where I live there wasn't any sign of frost, but the bit of dual carriageway was a different matter. I noted frost on the grass after the crash, and the police confirmed ice on the road in their report.
Somehow, despite this I got away with just a cut behind the ear, skinned my right knee and general aches and pains which have now pretty much subsided.
Sadly the car wasn't that lucky and is now a Cat B break only. It's actually on Coparts website.
Quite incredibly I landed on my wheels, and stepped out - I felt every impact. Counted a good three as I went down the field. In the haze I stepped out, checked myself over, only identifying a cut ear, and then realised the engine was still running? Odd, as I thought the inertia switch would have stopped it. Anyway I reached back in switched it off.
The luck involved was incredible. I missed a lampost and sign (below) by about 2 feet, which would have been a very different proposition. To walk away from this was also luck. Incredibly nobody saw me crash, and I was hidden from view down the field, so if I had been trapped or unconscious I would have been in big trouble - typically on a Friday I'm not expected home until 6pm, so from 07:45 on I could have been easily missed, and then pretty difficult to find. A huge amount of luck.
The bonnet skin, back bumper and my laptop were halfway up the field.
Really gutted as it was a lovely car that I'd owned from about 3 months old, but more than glad that I was on my own, and pretty much uninjured. The police were quite surprised too. They were pretty decent, and went through normal procedure etc.
Last August - Just waxed..

Anway - here's the result.

Oh my goodness!! What bad luck, that was one hell of a crash, I am glad you walked away from it! Unbelievable given the carnage!
Good to know that the S is so safe. I love how the interior light is still working, good old Honda reliability!
Cars can be replaced, you can't, pleased to see the car protected you.

Crumbs that is an amazing testament to the S2000!
I am amazed and delighted you walked away from what looks like a shocking experience, whilst also sorry for your S2000 loss !
Beautiful picture of your car, and I'm glad it protected you so well.

Yep, 5'-9", and I for sure pushed myself down with the steering wheel. Even my feet didn't get mauled by the pedals.
For maximum irony I got home in the evening to find a big envelope.
Looked quite exciting until I opened it and it was my renewal for S2KUK.
Oh well, at least I was home and capable of opening it.
Brian.
