It IS possible, but I'd imagine you're going to need to be pretty tall and have long arms.

I certainly wouldn't want to try it myself for fear of dropping it on the car and doing horrible damage to the paintwork....

with my learned friend - its a recipe for disaster with your new car. Get someone to help you remove it.

If you have a garage get a pully! Not that i have a hard top or a garage but if i did I would...

Would free up all of that space too hanging the hardtop from the ceiling.

I wouldn't advise doing it on your own, it's not so much the the weight that makes it tricky, more that it's an awkward shape. The 2 pins that hold the roof on will make a nice mess on your boot if you get it wrong....

I do mine on my own...but then I built a hoist!

Even more handy is the fact that the H/T is stored out of the way over the car, rather than cluttering up my spare room! Ok, I clouted my head on it once...

Hoist

Still not gotten round to taking some decent photos (i.e. with my camera, not my phone!) and doing a detailed build description. Is it worth it? Is anyone (genuingly) interested?

Its pretty much the same design as the EZ Hoist model but using materials all sourced from B&Q and cost me well under

I have done it on my own a couple of times, I wouldn't recommend it though
