have the roof down all the time if it isn't raining - doesn't matter if it is cold outside - thats what the heater is for - whats the point in having a soft top and only ever putting the roof down if it is definitely a blue sky with no clouds? It's the whole wind in the hair thing - i drive to work every morning at 6:30 with the roof down - i look forward to leaving the house every morning (and thats no reflection on the missus!).

Ok, I must confess I took it off for a day last weekend and went for a drive with the top down. I didn't enjoy it, it was sunny but it wasn't that warm and I don't think the car looks even half as good. It went back on the next day.

I'm actually considering leaving it on all the time, except for 2-3 months over summer, I only really enjoy top-down when it's nice and hot outside.

I took mine off yesterday. Two things that I noticed today:
1) much noisier, especially in Hatfield Tunnel.
2) the plastic "parcel rack" really vibrates a lot - it makes the boot mounted sub a PITA to listen to.
3) as a postscript - it rains more when you have the hardtop off

I kept the hardtop on while it was dark on the way to work, there've been too few bright days this winter to warrant the hassle of taking it off

There have been loads, its been one of the driest winters in years, they are already talking about a hose pipe ban

To be fair I have been considering a GT for my next car, but can't get over the fact that its a waste of money. I love the look, but its the hassle of removal and storage. It will be a dilemma until the day I either order a new S or another car
