Default hardtop or soft top?

I hope im in the right section for this posting....So I'm wondering what you all think... I'm stuck between replacing my soft top or getting a hard top. Winter is coming soon but I live in so cal(Los angels are) so I don't really have to worry about crappy weather. The soft top on my car now is decent with no real problem. A few very very small holes. The reason I've been thinking of replacing the soft top is to update the look of the car since its an '00 and has te plastic window and would like to have glass. So I made some calls n got quoted to replace my soft top for about $1300. As far as the hard top goes I was thinking about getting a replica from forbidden. I'm stuck in the middle. What are ur guys opinions? What would u all do? Thanks!

I would recommend the OEM hardtop and just patch up the soft-top. The OEM hardtop look gives the S a cleaner look in my opinion.

Go with an oem hardtop and ditch the softop (it's just a wear item) lol

Personally I think a soft stop is going to be more practicle. Unless you plan on leaving your top on 24/7. The simpleness of going top less with a switch of a button at anytime, no matter how far from home you are is the deciding factor. However based on looks, I'd go with hardtop. Then depending on which top you get you have to worry about the squeeks and the rattles.

It's a matter of preference. Such matters aren't resolved via polling. Sort out your priorities and you'll have your answer.

I have a 00 s2k and got an ap2 complete frame and cloth together for $700 and a patch kit for $12. There's no cut or hole on the ap2 top but I just patch it up where it normally tears for peace of mind and its been great so far. I can go topless anytime and showoff my gpw with full red interior. So yea its a matters of preference.
