Now all this talk on hart tops has got me thinking.

I imported my 02 with a hardtop fitted. However, I removed the hardto on day 2 of having the car. When I put the hardtop back on, do I need to get it re-fitted ? What does the initial fitting involve, other than locating the locking mechanism and connecting the power for the rear de-mister ?

Lupen, afraid it's already been done and interest seemed to dwindle:

Yeh - I was one of the people who wanted to get in on the deal... However the organiser seemed to disappear... Many people said they would be interested nearer the winter, so now may be the time.

Point 2: removal of interior top windscreen trim and light, replacement of striker plates (steel instead of alloy I think), removal of rear panels, kick plates and rear side trim. Removal of existing bolts and replacement with new ones together with 'catch plates' that the hardtop spikes mate with. Replacment of 'brush' pieces in the side trim. Installation of interface loom (also on 00/01 models instalation of relay and switch) Installation of side trim pieces within the hardtop shell.

I did the install myself and all that is easy. Its the time spent ensuring a perfect, windnoise and squeek free fit that takes up the time!! )

Thanks for the info.

Just picked up new GT. Does anyone know of a wall mounted hard top stand (similar to what my MX5 had)? Not sure I can easily find room for car / hard top as well as all the other crap I dump in the garage. It doesnt look quite right in the dining room and my cats are starting to use it as a tent
