Default Hardtop - Quick question

Just received a hardtop and the fixing kit goes on tomorrow.

I can see how the fronts clips (as with the soft top) and the rear latches behind the seats work..but at the bottom are 2 black lugs with screwholes in. Looking at the roof from the rear they would be just under the rear window to the left and right.

What are they for and what, if anything do they screw to ??

I think I know which bits you mean.

They have rubber(?) ends which push down on the soft top in mine.

No, although I have 2 x rubber bungs from the fixing kit.

I can ask at the garage tomorrow - they sort of look like they would screw into something

They don't seem long enough to make much of an impact on the lowered roof unless they attach to the bar where the soft top latches are when folded.

Nah, they're the same on my roof. If the soft top goes down well they are clear of the header rail, otherwise they just touch.

So is that their purpose ?...to rest on the header rail and secure the lowered roof ?

Yes, unless they are the rubber bungs which go on the end of the "spikes" when the HT is off the car?
