Default Heated rear window, wiring harness? Updating roof.

Getting my original MY99 roof replaced by Jack Smith later in the year and I've sourced a glass replacement screen for the new top.

Is the wiring harness for the early cars in but not connected or will I need the harness from a later MY along with the switch to get it working? Any other bits I will need too?

TIA

I had my roof replaced at Jack's with a glass upgrade about a month ago. Now I'm no diy'er but did pick up an original loom and switch ages ago from a member on here. Does anyone have a rough idea how much an auto elec would charge to fit?

Shouldn't be more than 2 hrs work, it should be around the centre console, the centre cubby and behind the passenger seat. - what parts of the loom have you got? Images or part numbers?

This one is for hard top demister but should at least put you in the right ball park for some part numbers, and what you're looking at. I'm not sure how the GT hard top wiring works though as there will be a switch between hard top demisting ( if fitted) and soft top to avoid the folded soft top heating up when the hard top is in place.

I recently did a roof replacement on my MY04 and there is a module by the petrol filler pipe that the demister wire plugs into, it did seem to have a couple of other things plugged in too so I wouldn't expect an easy plug and play with some OEM parts.

/tbh I'm not sure it's worth the hassle - I can't recall ever using my rear window demister and the glass is so small you can't see much anyway

I got mine from here, all the parts you need to hook up the glass window in an early car. Didn't think I paid this much but it was a few years ago. Not sure it's worth it tho as it's not the best de-mister and I hardly use it 🙂
