Run it in for 600 miles. No VTEC.. keep below 6K revs. Try not to do your run in miles at a constant speed. e.g. motorway. Keep a VERY watchful eye on the oil, most use quite a bit initially!

I can't say I've met Ian, but the guy I'm dealing with at the dealership (on the sales side, not service) knows next-to nothing about the car, right down to the choice of available colours. (!?)

Alex

Sorry to hear about your experience at dealership, if there's anything I can help you with don't hesitate to contact me.
Either through s2k site or at dealership.
I know sometimes how frustrating salesmen can be,due to lack of product knowledge. Unlike service personnel, salesmen have a history of moving on after short periods.

By the way who are you dealing with, (initials will do)

Ian

It's such a lovely day isn't it - I want my S2000!!!

Another question if I may...

The dealer has offered a service called Diamondbrite, which is apparently similar to Supergard, the clear laquer that goes over the paintwork & leather. My other half has had her Beetle "Supergarded" and it works really well, but does anyone have any experience of Diamondbrite?

Saw a nice one around Bristol today - T-Reg Monte Carlo Blue, driving near Parkway Station. Anyone want to own up to owning this one??!!

Hi Alex, I am upgrading from an A3 with BOSE to the S2000 and you will most definitely notice the difference.
The ONLY way to get the same kind of sound in the S2000 is to spend money - lots of money....

Chris (Tifosi Red) has upgraded his head unit, speakers and amp (he'll be able to give you the run down, just don't let on to Bernie, his wife..... ) - his setup is now sounding great, better than the BOSE in our Audis but at a cost.
To be honest, the BOSE is about the only thing I'll miss about the Audi, and the S2000's mechanical music will more than make up for it.....

The thing I like about BOSE in the A3 is that it sounds absolutely fantastic, but people on the outside of the car aren't really aware of it...

Obviously that's going to be a hard act to follow (especially in a convertible!!), but I'd be interested to hear what other people have done?

By the way, I've read a lot of posts on here about the airbox being taken off or something like that - what's all that about??!

I'm sure if you PM Chris, he'll give you the rundown on his audio upgrades, he's got the Alpine head unit which works with the dash-controls (using an interface) - there should be quite a few threads on the main boards about audio upgrades too.

The airbox cover (not the whole airbox!!!) removal makes the car sound louder, meaner and generally turns more heads. Again, if you do a search for it you'll find loads of mentions of it.
