Default Hello again!

Hello to everyone on the uk forum, i say hello again because i use to be oin this forum for quite a while when i wanted an S but couldnt afford it then so thought i'd stop doing myself in by coming on here and looking at your cars. nearly a year later and im feeling a lot older then i should i am waiting to sell my current car and hopefully purchase an S (i have also had a 330 in mind-but think i'll scrap that idea)

BEfore i bore anyone the reason i have posted a topic is to find out if there are any news of a new shape S2000 coming out soon? as i know there was a facelift about a year ago..
Would it make much difference if it was from a dealer or private?
ALso are there any differences on the facelift model to the previous one apart from the look?

Thank you for any help

Sammyc,

That's no help

You mean it's slower 'cause you can't get MCB, and it looks a bit wide mouthed

Pontio,

There are some posts directly comparing current and earlier, some prefer some don't.

This week's Autocar is saying the S2000 will not be replaced, and the rumour is it dies in 2006 So possibly no more facelifts.

Thanks for the quick replies guys, the reason i ask is because apparently the 02-03 dyno more hp than the previous models.
Monte Carlo blue is the best colour ;-)
Any ideas on where the best bargain is to be made?
Im in North London if it makes a difference..

Your first stop should always be the UK board's For Sale & Wanted section - there are a couple of real bargains on there at the minute. If you like MCB, check out winfij's thread here

Ooops, I must have got mixed up with another recent FS thread Still a bargain though (even if a slow colour )

No major differences between the 02 and the 04, to be honest. I prefer the 17" rims now - can't believe how small the OEM 16" rims when on a car parked next to mine. The new RE050 tyres seem to cope with the wet weather better than the S02s ever did. It's perhaps a touch more predictable than the 02 was when getting towards the limit (probably to do with the further suspension and geometry tweaking) but all in all very similar to the 02.

I would have gone for MCB again for the 04 if it hadn't been discontinued. But as it turned out, I now prefer the Royal Navy Blue anyway

EDIT: The MCB FS thread I was thinking of is here

well unless any1 else comes up with any reason why the 04 is better than the 03-03 then i'll probably get whichever i get a better deal on as it seems theres not much in them.
If i was rid of my current car now i'd be going for that for sure, unfortunetally i am still waiting for the logbook to come back so i can sell it.

Pontio

Most of the changes to the 04 were cosmetic, some handling changes, but not too much (its a bit softer) I think the dyno stuff you might be talking about is the US 04 model which is 2.2 rather than 2.0

Hope you find yourself a nice S soon
