Default Hello and....Dash Mark Problem

Firstly wanted to say hi to all, I recently purchased a UK s2000 in Silverstone, despite being a lurker on these boards for the last few months. This is my 2 nd Honda (former type r owner) and currently loving the new car.

Had a little accident yesterday in the Garage which has left me fuming, basically a shelf on the wall collapsed and one of the many things that came off the shelf was a container of turps / white spirit, which quite conveniently landed on my head and fell towards the car, unfortunatley the door was open and some of the white spirit landed on the dash area. I quickly tried to dry it up and take it off although it has left a faded mark on the dash which is quite noticeable.

Dont suppose any one has had similar unfortunate problems with this? Only had the car a few weeks and there is a 6 inch area on the dash that clearly looks out of place, Are there any products I should try or is this one for a car cosmetic specialist if there is such a thing!!

Have tried or two polish items Auto glym dash cleaner and simonz interior polish but after a few days after doing the whole dash the effected area looks pale, its as if the top layer of the dash (whether its laquer or the matt finish has been stripped) as a result of the spillage.

Is tangoman a specialist in this area?

Questionable ales my arse, they get me drunk and I dont get a hangover

Its hard to tell without any pictures, the worry I would have is the dash is plastic and can therefore get etched/damaged by some products. You may need to stain the area using something such as fade to black. Really need to see some close up pictures though before I can advise

When I had my roof replaced some time ago they managed to scuff the centre consol which I wasn't very happy about.
They got hold of a guy who specialised in interior trim etc. Don't have a name I'm afraid.
He masked the surrounding area and after spraying the area it did look as good as new and it has lasted ok.
He had carefully removed the labels of the cans he was using to protect his trade secrets, but I recognised the smell of the paint from my younger days
I'm sure the paint he was using was plastic model making paint, like Humbrol.
I think Tamiya also do a range.
Have a look in your local model making shop at the satin finishes, but make sure you try it out on some scrap plastic first

Edit. The above was on hard plastic on the softer plastic of the dash you might need something else. I'm sure Halfords do some trim restoration products, worth a look.

Warranty claim?
'I have no idea whatsoever why it's gone like that!'

Not easy to get good picture due to light /camera flash etc, as you can below the sat nav suction mount there is a slightly ligher area, have tried various products in the past as previously mentioned without success, any advice?

I think it may be wise to get a profesional vinyl repair specalist on this, as i'm wary of playing with it and causing it to get worse!!

If anyone knows of a specialist in the South Wales /west region I wouldappreciate any comments.

Thanks again!

Have you tried Back to Black by Meguiars?
That stuff worked pretty good for me on all black surfaces.
