It's a doddle. Even easier than fitting springs.
Budgie struggled with hood dampers at the weekend

Post some photos so we know what you will need to install them.

I'm assuming you've bought coilovers, in which case you don't need spring compressors to fit them although as already suggested, buying new mounts is a wise plan - it'll help eradicate potential unpleasant & unexpected knocks.

Fitting new suspension isn't the hardest thing, one of the better tips i was given was saturate the bolts (if you're not buying brand new replacement ones) in wd40 to aid in the removal process.

Question, is it unwise to fit them knowing that I am not able to get my geo done for 2 weeks at least, and with a trip up to scotland, plsu 100 miles a day?

I did half a trackday on mine inbetween fitting the coilovers and getting the alignment done. Not exactly an ideal situation.

You shouldn't really mess up the geometry too badly, especially if you try to keep the ride heights approximately the same.

I had mine installed a few days before the Arran meet 2 years ago and it was at this point I discovered that the dealer couldn't align them cause the bushes were fecked

You could get a dealer alignment and then get Chris to do it properly at a later date.

Oli has been running around on his for a while without having his wheels aligned.

So do you think it is worth doing before Arran, Mr M?

or risky, given it is my only car?
