Personally I wouldn't bother given the hassle of having to talk a future buyer through the history of the car (even though it sounds genuine).

I think if you take your time to look you'll find some cars in the UK around the final price you'll end up paying. I've even seen a couple of older models for sale on here around the 10-11k mark.

Was the VAT paid when the car was originally supplied, and was it not claimed back ??

Was the car first registered outside of the UK ??

Is there a UK conformity certificate.

What climate has the car been in ??

Depending on the answers then it sounds worth going for.

Also, don't forget, if it hasn't been UK registered then it will have to be 'new' registered and will therefore also be liable for the increased levels of road tax.

Does the shipping cost include VAT ?? There is VAT to be paid on shipping costs also.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I took the executive decision that it was too good a deal to pass up and bought her. I love Hondas of all varieties, and have loved the S2K since they first came out. Can't wait to get behind the wheel next week.

The car is in Guernsey at the moment (sorry if I was a bit vague before but it wouldn't have been difficult for someone to find it and make a better offer!) so the shipping is just a ferry ticket and nice drive home from Weymouth. She's having a B service done by the Honda dealer over there before I pick her up so I shouldn't have to worry about anything for a year (apart from the Nitron shocks, OZs and Brembo BB kit...).

Woooooohoooo!!!

ps: will post a pic when I can upload to my ftp server.
