Post HELP please

HI I am new to th eforum and would like some advise please hope this the right section as I am in the UK.

I have a 2003 S2000 I believe an AP1? I want to put an I pod lead in which I have done (by reccomendation of my in car audio centre) an alpine CDE104BT-i head unit, this has a full i-pod cotrol unit as well as being bluetooth for the phone etc. I also stipulated that I wanted it to be compatible with the cars dash audio cotrols! this is where the problems have started. they have fitted an audio leads 099-X60* mulistalk adapter which they say will work everything however it hasnt been the case. it worked everything BUT the MUTE button which was Ok but then stuck on! now it seems that the mute wont turn off?? Had it back to Honda thinking it was just a dicky switch but they tell me that you cant just do a switch it is part of a full unit and will cost

I think you need to purchase membership to get an avatar... ( but I could be wrong )

But if you are new here there are 2 memberships you want to consider.

www.s2ki.com ( this place - membership keeps it running )

www.s2kuk.co.uk ( Gets you lots of discounts on things you need... tyres, insurance, servicing etc etc )

Many here have both.

Have a look in the UK Meets section - should be able to see a meet in your neck of the woods.

Have you pullled the unit out yourself and unplugged the mute wire? Its the pink one on the x-61 adapter and will be labelled. You don't need to go to an audio place who will charge for the priviledge.

Its a 10 minute task to get the head unit out and v simple. You can find steps here:

FWIW, the Mute button does not work at all with a KCE-865B and the newer Alpine HUs.
