help strange problem
Just went out in the car and it seems to have developed a strange problem
Basically the car looses all power when changing gear. For example. flat out in second gear. change to 3rd then put foot to floor again and nothing. No response from throttle and just slowly decelerates for maybe 1 second then kicks back in. For all you bike riders its like hitting the kill switch on a bike.
No misfires, no odd indications on dash just a total cut on power.
Any ideas gents?
Car has been stood a while so i'm maybe thinking battery issue?

weird
what year is it? assuming it has electronic throttle it could be something to do with that, perhaps as LG suggests. if you dip the clutch can you rev it?

with @NickGraves - Check in this rough order :
Fuel,
spark plugs,
coil packs (would technically throw an EML, but they have been known not too) ,
map sensor (clean or gently whack),
clean the IAC valve and TB
Looks like you have a MY00 according to your profile : similar issue here.

Its an 06 car and cable throttle.
Done a little digging and i'm 90% sure its fuel starvation. Car is on 1/3 of a tank and only seems to do it when getting on it after a long bend or exiting a big roundabout.
Seems to be quite a common problem with the s2000 by the looks of it

Yes car is registered March 06 and has a cable throttle. Why is that strange?
oil is fine
It's just fuel starvation I'm pretty sure of it. Going to fill the tank to the brim then try it again and see if it cures it. Pretty sure it will.
