Default Highest mileage

Having checked the Search Engine and realised that this has been covered a few months ago, I still thought I'd resurrect it again out of interest

Who has the car with the highest on here, i.e. the total mileage of the vehicle not how much an owner has put on it, and specifically whether any car has hit the magic figure yet?
I guess that now the S is 5 years old this is very feasible, although I suppose I'm still interested in anything over 70k.

And of course this thread wouldn't be complete without asking about any major repairs encountered (not routine wear-and-tear stuff like clutches), but specifically early cars and any engine work which has had to be done outside the warranty period.

I'm fascinated to know, as a recent owner, and of this great car, how long the engine holds together having a 9k redline.........hopefully no responses there then

Mine was just under 90k when I sold her last month, think it was on about 89,800 miles.

I think there was a thread a while back and someone was on well over 100k miles!

I drove mine like I stole it and one time it did bite me on the arse! When I took it round the Ring in the summer it withstood 3 laps of almost constant VTEC and had the engine management light on all the way too. I had no problems to speak of in all that time and have the utmost respect for Honda engines.

I have 110,250 on the clock now. Only me and a friend as owners from new serviced on the button every time - no mechanical work other than the recalls and a new set of front brake disks at 108,000. Needs a clutch now but other than that it still as fresh as ever and looking good with only a few stone chips and one door ding on the rear arch.

It is going to be up for sale once the clutch is done - I think it will be up for 11.5k - does that sound about right? (Silverstone / red leather)

How is your suspension ? Mine is just under 60k, and I suspect that the shocks need replacing - every other aspect of the car is pretty good for the mileage really.

Fair play Minty, I doubt anyone's going to better that!

Very reassuring to know that this car is capable of achieving over 100k without any engine work. This obviously fully justifies Honda's reputation for engine reliability and as the leading developer of them.

I'm no expert on second-hand prices of S's, but if the car is in excellent condition, then there's no reason why it shouldn't fetch that kind of money - given the low depreciation.

Good luck, and what do you plan on buying as a replacement? (it would be good to hear 'another S', but I guess it will be a German car of some sort given what I have read elsewhere on the forum about people's potential next car! )
