just took me 3 hours and 2 skinned nuckles to get one off and im going to have to have my 16" wheel refurbed and at some time in the furture a new wheel stud

before i spend the rest of the night getting the last one off does anybody have any tips

Yep they are crap.

Last time I had to change a wheel I had to get the AA man out - that was after one of the guys at work had tried to get the bl**dy thing off.

Also had to get one wheel re-furbed after the s at the tyre shop wrecked it.

Swear at it

Your not using the Honda OEM nuts for the new wheels are you?

As AJ's thread stated last week. The Honda nuts are acorn, you need tapered nuts for the ROTA's matey.

I used the honda ones for a short period, as I also didn't know to begin with.

Yes Just been through this very thing myself, I feel your pain!

You need to use a drill (mains); start by removing the stud with the white cap that sticks out from the middle of the bolt (a couple of blows with bolster and large hammer down on it will do this

Think he ended up using the hydraulic tightener thing

It was mangled when he got it off.

ok its off
drilled a couple of holes and used a chisle, it didnt split it came loose
i dont think it was thread bind i think its the mating faces binding if the tyre fitters use to much pressure on the nut gun
my advise is to back em off and fit them hand tight as soon as you have new tyres fitted. the honda lock nuts are a crap design.
