MC is my initials actually. The clue i'm from sheffield should spell out where the blade bit comes from? or the crossed blades in my signiture??

I did wonder where that came from, it would work well as an 'MC' name

I'm still not sure where the Blade bit comes in (even with your hints I'm not that up on Sheffield), I'd guess something to do with sport?

Sheffield steel. Some of the finest knives are made in Sheffield. Or, at least, they were. Not sure any more.
