Default How bloody hot does the intake manifold get?!

Never really realised jut how much heat is transferred from the engine block to the manifold. It really does get fooking hot, and that will mean some power lost.

I think Steven M and maybe a couple of others have the Hondata gasket which provides less of a heat transfer?

If it wasn's such a bast to fit I think I would get one.

Hmmm.

Well normally the intake wouldnt get hot apart from just engine bay heat, but where its connected to the engine (as its all one bit the intake manifold) the heat from the engine soaks its way into the intake manifold too.

As you know, the engine gets fooking hot to the point you cant touch it - so the intake sees a similar heat.

Cool air is best for the engine, but with a very hot intake manifold then there the air gets heated too - worse at lower speeds and traffic.

This means you lose power!

The Hondata gasket is non metallic so it doesn't tranfer heat. Problem mostly solved!
