I'm selling mine at the moment after 2 years of ownership. Can't believe I've had her that long. I guess time flies when you're having fun.

I'm certainly not bored of the car, but I'm having a lust for a big, fat turbo or 2! So, I'm going to sell mine and buy a new CTR to run about in for a few years. That way I get a 3yr warranty, no MOT's and cheaper running costs which will allow me to save some pennies and buy the car I've been wanting for a very long time, the R34-GTR.
My plan is to keep it for 2 years and then buy a Skyline R34 GTR like this one:

Was going to keep it for two years - now 3/4 of the way through my third year - and still finding it fun . Guess post summer (what's that?) next year will be time for change.

For what? Must be a drop top.

I was going to cycle mine through the 'new in 2 years' but can't see the point in doing so. As everyone says, there is little to compare the car to and with no debt on mine I have recently bought a beater which reduces its usage further.

Ricks badges and a private plate make the car very unusual and it still generates loads of looks and positive remarks. That, coupled with the fact that flippin speed cameras are popping up at every bump in the road lead me to believe that a sportscar in the UK in 4 years time will be a bit of a waste of time.

Realistic options ?

Plan (a) move to France and buy a proper Porsche to be driven on decent roads

Plan (b) stay in the UK and buy a replica which is slower but nonetheless beautiful. (see www.chesil.co.uk)

I only get bored of the car when I'm not driving it enough

The big question for me is whether to keep the car 'til it's paid for (half way through now) or swap it for another one at 3 years.

At the minute I think I'll keep it (not that fond of the '04 looks) but then I hear the odd story of dropped valves, blown gearboxes and I panic a bit

... can't see me changing it for anything else though

I reckon I will keep mine for another year or two but after that I may be living with my other half so will have to be a bit sensible . I will always want a fun weekend car . Thats means I will probably upgrade my beater to a better car and then sell my S for a weekend car. That car will prob be a lotus elise , a good fun car for blasting around on sunny weekends. While I am a bachelor boy living on my own though I will keep the S

will keep mine two years, then either get a Lexus SC430

or go back in the company car scheme and get a rep mobile and something
totally impractible for the weekend, like an Elise or Westie
